MUSIKA JORNAL 11 : MUSIC IN THEATER
Call for Abstracts

The UP Center for Ethnomusicology invites scholars, thinkers and music practitioners to submit scientific papers or critical essays on the theme Music in Theater.

MUSIKA JORNAL is a refereed scholarly periodical prepared by an Editorial Board comprised of faculty members and researchers from the College of Music, College of Arts and Letters and other units of the University of the Philippines that maintains close linkage with the UP Center for Ethnomusicology. The journal aims to provide a forum for the discussion of traditional musics in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, as well as the new music of contemporary composers from this geographic area.

For the coming issue, Musika Jornal 11 : Music in Theater, the submissions of abstracts must follow these guidelines:

  • Abstract should be no more than 300 words in English (abstract and intended article should not have been published yet);
  • Format in MS Word, Times New Roman, 12 pt., double-spaced;
  • Include 2-3 keywords which will describe the content of the intended paper;
  • Include a short biography of the author (1 paragraph); and
  • Include an updated CV with photo of the author

Abstracts and other requirements may be submitted through our email at upethno@gmail.com or through mail at Room 220, 2f Abelardo Hall, College of Music, University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City 1101. Authors of selected abstracts will be contacted and provided with guidelines for submission of full articles.

Deadline for submission of abstracts is August 12, 2015 September 3, 2015.
